Yes, it’s called Modulation and provided the heat pump is sized correctly, it’d work just fine. But that’s the problem. They aren’t and Daikin decided Madoka shouldn’t shut off over the setpoint (relying on Modulation instead - which I get btw).
What they could do is if MMI sees that it can’t modulate lower than the flow temp will go, realise this and shut off when the indoor temp goes over the setpoint, but only if the flow temp can’t be lowered. How hard would that be to code in? Not at all. Will they do it? No.
