I have installed a couple of JK BMS with 2A active balance built in that works well on big batteries, my biggest problem I have found is data logging the cells, I have played around with trying to grab the data from the JK BMS itself without much success.
Just an idea to throw around would be a BMS board with all 17 battery terminals header or block being for a S16 setup with just one data in/out to go to the controller, this board would NOT need any balancing feature (as most new board are coming out with there own active balance), but able to configure it to data log to MQTT or Influx dB etc, Maybe a bridge for turning into a S4 or S8, this board could be used on any BMS
