As of Oct 2018 NodeRED is no longer pre-installed on the emonPi / emonBase, it can be installed following the standard NodeRED Raspberry Pi install guide.

Hi, I’ve managed to install node red on a 2020 version on the emonPi.
I used putty to SSH into the pi.
With reference to the guide: “OpenEnergyMonitor emonPi NodeRED Setup” is it necessary to “Move user data partition to RW ~/data partition on emonPi”?
Can I not just add the emonPi nodes through using the manage palette directly from node red without the need to move the user data partition?
