End of 2019 finished working in technical development for a waste to energy biofuels company based in Liverpool and now ‘semi’ retired.
Generally interested in renewable energy and have a 4kWp solar pv array together with recently installed LG Therma V high temp ASHP and Sunamp heat batteries. The heat batteries are charged overnight with hot water from the HP using electricity supplied under the Octopus Go tariff; storing heat for domestic hot water and central heating. I also have recently setup an emonpi energy monitor with Emoncms.
I am interested in improving the control of the HP and Sunamp batteries through better monitoring and use of household energy by integrating a system possibly with Home Assistant and various wifi connected devices. I am also interested in the Octopus Agile tariff if it proves more cost effective and possibly electric battery storage.
