A semi retired Engineer. Started in Railway Signalling with British Rail and got involved in the project to develop BRs Safety Solid State Interlocking before moving into technical project management. From BR I moved to Adtranz and then Siemens before taking a sideways move into IT project and Service management. Currently run my own small IT support company and develop software for a company providing Hybrid Electric Marine Propulsikn systems for small and medium sized boats (~< 100 tonne).
Code mainly in C /C++ but have in my time used assembler, fortran, algol, python, perl, and a number of other languages.
I use OpenEnergyMonitor to monitor and control my home systems including house storage battery, vehicle to grid charger, ashp, solar etc and interested in helping develop additional interfaces and apps for the platform to support this. Currently looking at modbus-rtu to provide some additional inputs.
