if you want far easier method
buy an wemos R3 uno/wifi either at banggood or aliexpress or amazon or ebay
You have fotos and diagram?
it pretty easy just plug the emontx shield into the wemos R3 follow the above mention and you are done, no soldering no extra wires just plug and play-- but here a picture it has two extra wires, that you can ignore completely , that are connected to pin of the built in esp passing info directly to the uno board so I can adjust setting on the fly example of that is found here
