The MIM-B19N connects to F1/F2 (which is the internal Samsung NASA bus). The installation instructions tell you to put it in the outside unit, but of course, it is an RS485 bus so you can equally connect it (more conveniently) at the indoor unit F1/F2 connections, doh!

I’ve recently purchased the MIM-B19-N unit - to try and hook up to my Samsung 16kW heat pump, and get the data back to my Home Assistant set-up..

I’m probably being thick here, but…

As I see it, the Modbus unit needs to plug in to the main (outdoor) unit in two places - to hitch up the 12DC, and for the comms (both cables supplied).

I thought that the 2-core screened cable then connected to the Modbus unit, and had to be routed back to whatever RS485 converter has been chosen etc etc.

If this is the case, where does the F1/F2 come in, please? I’d prefer to use this, too, as I’d rather site my Modbus box close to the main Samsung control box, too, but then, what about the 12DC and comms cable back to the outdoor unit?

I’m reasonably technically inclined, but I’ve never dealt with RS485 comms, so please be gentle with me!!
