Are you logged in as the user ‘pi’?
Did you edit the config.ini to suit an Ubuntu Debian install? https://github.com/openenergymonitor/EmonScripts/blob/master/install/readme.md#configure-install
I suspect you need to start again from scratch if you didn’t.
