HeatpumpMonitor.org flagging monitoring errors

The air error flag is now automated based on calculated COP impact being more than 0.1, this means that systems that have an air error for a few days might show up on last 7 days but over a year this wont impact the COP massively.

Hover over the blue air error flag to see air error information for each system:

The air error is always a detriment to apparent performance. A system with this error will not rank higher as a result of this error.

Hi Trystan,

My system (ID 222) was flagged for an air meter issue, because I’d changed my eBusD setup to add better consumed power values (using the jonesPD fork on GitHub) and had to re-jig a bunch of stuff as a result. I’d been struggling to find a solution to getting produced heat figure calculated in Home Assistant and then fed into emoncms.org (environmental yield + the new more accurate consumed power), so there was just about 24 hrs where my heat pump stats showed the consumed power but no heat produced.

Everything is now being logged correctly for the past few days, so I’m wondering if/when your metering error flag will disappear? Or do I need to somehow remove the reported data for that day or so from the historical data? I agree with the general approach to identify systems with issues and stop them from painting a false picture alongside others, but people should also be able to have some way of fixing those issues and being restored to a “normal” status.

Hello Rob and welcome!

It also looks like you have cleared the historic detailed data on you system, you did have 186 days and now it’s only 6 days? I can fix the air error for you if you like as theres a bit of electric consumption at the start when the heat data is not coming through…

Thanks for the welcome!

Yes - I deleted the old feeds/logs without thinking that it would delete all the historic data that had been gathered under them… act in haste…! I got the heat working again on the 27th @ 19:16, so from then onwards things should be pretty good. I have since noticed there is occasional dropouts in the outdoor temperature (seems to be something caused by one of the eBusD file changes, but it’s short/rare enough not to make it worthwhile undoing everything now…!).

Can this also be shown on the overview page for the system, perhaps underneath “Data Quality”?

@TrystanLea - how often is the error flag recalculated/rechecked? I think I have now removed the bad data from my feeds, but still seeing the same flag against the system.
