Looking forward to it, especially as I was thinking those were things I might add

Yes, that would be great. Was thinking that myself. src.ino is getting a bit large! Would multiple .ino file have the same effect? I think platformio and Arduino both support multiple src files

I think you can use .ino, but .cpp works just as well even in Arduino IDE and is much better for use in other IDEs. Just need to #include <Arduino.h> and write actual C++ ;-), but on the plus side when you get a compile error it will give you the actual line number of the error. Have a look at Open…

That is an excellent way to construct it as It would be very useful for some of us to be able to swap out the emoncms code for an emonhub alternative. I am very interested in the development of wifi connected nodes with ota updating but where I want to use them I cannot connect them to the existing…

[image] jeremypoulter: Have a look at OpenTRV for example; https://github.com/opentrv/OpenTRV-Arduino-V0p2/blob/master/Arduino/V0p2_Main [image] jeremypoulter: Just need to #include and write actual C++ I do find the openTRV code (actual c++) quite hard to follow. I guess it’s …

[image] glyn.hudson: I do find the openTRV code (actual c++) quite hard to follow. Yeah, I guess that is true  my ‘actual C++’ was referring to doing all the magic that the Arduino pre-processor does (sometimes badly) for you, eg, function prototypes, etc, but that being said I am not d…

I think the split is a great idea. It will be much easier share code or add/remove modules between the OpenEVSE <=> EmonESP versions.

@glyn.hudson What are your plans re, merging the mqtt branch?

I have been developing the changes in the mqtt branch using a Adafruit Huzzah, the code has been proven to be stable. Running no problem for the past couple of weeks. However yesterday I uploaded to the HeatPump monitor board that @TrystanLea has been working on and it crashed :frowning: . The HP m…

[image] glyn.hudson: The HP monitor should be using the same ESP as the Huzzah, I think it could be a power supply issue. Although the HP monitor board has been running the code in the master branch just fine. Maybe the additional complexity has caused an additional power requirement. Does it…

I have been getting ready for a V1.0.0 release to master by doing a bit of documenting / user guide on the readme. Please let me know if you think I’ve missed anyting important: https://github.com/openenergymonitor/EmonESP/blob/mqtt/readme.md
