Hello, I replaced my micro as card in my emonpi with a new one from the download because the unit was stuck on booting pi all the time and would not respond anything. I’ve got the new one setup with Log and kWh on the power1 plus power2 line but the readings are very high. I’ve changed the calibration to 110v for the us but the vrms still says 225, I rebooted the emonpi with no luck any ideas? Thanks.
As in “calibration = 230V” ?
That isn’t a calibration value per se, it’s a ‘tag’ - a character string that must match exactly, so “110v” might well not match, it must be “110V”.
(And yes, I know that your nominal voltage is 120 V.)
It shouldn’t need a reboot for the calibration value that this tag sets to propagate into the front end of the emonPi.
Here’s the line of code:
elif key == 'calibration' and setting == '110V':
command = '2p'
(Thanks to pb66 for explaining all this to me.)
I wonder if it’s possible I deleted a space in the line or the placement of the line explaining it like UK=230v US=110v would that mess it up and make it not work correctly?
Thanks.
I don’t understand what you’re getting at there. All you need is
calibration = 110V
the hash symbol and everything to the right of it is a comment.
What AC-AC adaptor are you using? Are you using a USA adaptor?
https://openenergymonitor.com/ac-ac-power-supply-adapter-ac-voltage-sensor-us-plug/
Yes,its the one with the US prongs on it from the shop. I used a Samsung 32 GB MicroSD card. When the Emonpi started up it updated then a did the emonSDexpand is it possible something may have got corrupted?
Thanks.
It doesn’t sound like anything has got corrupted. Could you post to contents of your emonhub.conf
?
ok, Here it is.

@Robert.Wall indicated where your problem lies in his first response:
Your emonhub.conf includes this:
Here’s a test of Roberts theory in Python:

Python 2.7.13 (default, Nov 24 2017, 17:33:09)

>>> "110v" == "110V"
False
>>>
110v is not the same as 110V
Just in case you’re still not seeing what has been posted twice already (three times including this post)… you have a lowercase “v” in your calibration string and the code is looking for an uppercase “V” as per the valid values in the trailing comment.
You need to change:
calibration = 110v
to
calibration = 110V
Hello, Oh wow, sorry about that. Sometimes I can’t see the forest through the trees. I will start paying closer attention to the details. Thanks for your help.
Thanks again.
