im looking to switch irl640l mosfets with a uno. i’ve been told i should optically isolate the mosfet from the uno because the mosfets will be switching on and off 100 volts dc. does anyone know of a breakout board or shield to do this ?? up to 8 mosfets will be switched.
I don’t, but the reason that would be needed is not because it is 100 V d.c., but because that 100 V supply and your (presumably) Arduino and any computer attached to it might be connected to different voltages (most likely earth in the case of your computer), and in making a direct metallic connection between the two, there is a risk that a damaging current will flow.
