Hi guys,

I’ve just purchased my emonpi and am waiting for it in the post. I’ve been using Openhab for a couple of years (still learning) and am very happy with my ‘current’ setup. My question is is even though emonpi comes with Openhab pre-installed is it worth running the emonpi on a different pi and run it alongside my pi running openhab? And have emonpi subscribe to my mqtt topics from Openhab? Or is that overkill?

Hi Matt,

Sounds like you may be a bit confused. (or a typo, perhaps?)
The emonPi is a Raspberry Pi with a daughterboard.

Are you asking:
is it worth running emonCMS on a different pi and run it alongside my pi running openhab?

I’m not familair with OH, so can’t help there, but wanted to get some clarification on your question
so anyone else who may be able to answer your question knows exactly what it is you’re asking.
