# OpenEVSE - configure button on device

Hi all,

We have an OpenEVSE and most of the time we run this in solar divert mode, to mop up any excess.

But every now and then the car needs a proper charge and I want to make it as easy as possible for the whole family to do this.

Is it possible to configure the button on the side of the device so one press will change it into a “full charge just this time” mode, then it’ll default back to PVDivert for future charges?

Did kind of have this planned, we have talked about doing a ‘boost’ mode where it can override the divert mode and charge at full power for some time (or energy transferred, miles added, etc) and the intention was to allow this to be enabled from the button.

I don’t think we actually have a ticket raised for this so might be an idea to add one to [Issues · OpenEVSE/ESP32\_WiFi\_V4.x · GitHub](https://github.com/OpenEVSE/ESP32_WiFi_V4.x/issues)
