Sorry for the very basic question, but I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer for this - what exactly consitutes a charging session, when does it begin and end? Or is the definition configurable?
This is for a project I’m working on and unfortunateIy don’t have access to a charger to check for myself.

A charging session begins when the vehicle is plugged in ends when the vehicle is unplugged. The EVSE can be stopped and started many times during a charging session e.g when using Eco Mode solar PV divert, but the total charging session energy is added up and the session ends when the vehicle is unplugged.
