Evening Andrew - It is indeed interesting to monitor the relationship between wind and solar but this was only one reason for opting for an Emon set-up (I already had a pretty good idea of this relationship anyway and the critical relationship for off-grid is the interseasonal differences rather than hour to hour, day to night or day to day). The real focus for me (initially) is monitoring my excess generation diversion to fine tune this part of the system and for this it is proving very useful and there are few well supported alternatives.
I guess solar is the emphasis because of it’s popularity. Sadly wind is not available to most people but if forced to choose I would always opt for the turbine over PV. More support for off-grid (particularly DC based systems) would be good as it seems to me many off-gridders have a very anecdotal grasp of their energy flows!
