I posted regarding an issue I found with Shaper which I think is related to the MQTT connection going back to EmonCMS. If that connect is interrupted I recall that MQTT will drop and not reconnect. That post involved maybe having some watchdog timer check that the connection still exists, but I’ve not seen any reply. I’m unsure if setting up maybe Mosquito might offer a workaround to force the connection back, if that’s something it could do.

I note that there was an update to the ESP frontend firmware a few days ago, so I’d have to assume that it is still being worked on, amongst all the other projects here

We (OpenEnergyMonitor) are no longer involved with OpenEVSE development. We discontinued our EmonEVSE 2 years ago.

I would recommend posting issues on the OpenEVSE WiFi github:

> **[GitHub - OpenEVSE/openevse\_esp32\_firmware: OpenEVSE V4 WiFi gateway using ESP32](https://github.com/OpenEVSE/openevse_esp32_firmware)**
>
> OpenEVSE V4 WiFi gateway using ESP32

I notice this PR was merged a couple of weeks ago which might fix your issue:

>
> The previous version of MQTT was only called when there was a network connection…. This was lost in the refactor leading to a race condition on starting up between the network connecting and MQTT starting.
