Local control.

For EcoNEXT you keep the control panel but swap the cloud-connected box for a raspberry pi (even an old v1 works fine):

The REST API talks directly from Home Assistant to the heat pump, so no extra hardware required, but it’s more hassle to send commands to the device:

You need to insert the line: rest: !include rest.yaml into your configuration.yaml file, and you need to put the attached rest.yaml file into the same folder, after you have used notepad or similar to ‘replace all’ instances of the ip address (mine is 192.168.1.25) with whatever address you heatpump lives at. Hint: you need to tel…

> The Grant Aerona HP290 heat pump uses a [Plum ecoMAX360i](https://hvac.plum.pl/en/product/ecomax-360i/) touch screen controller. It’s a good controller and works well. The Grant HP290 must be the easiest heat pump to integrate with, no special cables or hardware is required, just local HTTP requests smiley Grant use TP-Link hardware (EcoNet300) running [custom firmware](https://www.elektroda.com/rtvforum/topic4097437.html) to post data to [EcoNet24.com](https://econet24.com/). EcoNet service allows every setting to be adjusted remotely and lots metrics from onboard sensors to be monitored with basic graphing…
