Whats the easiest way to see total energy use (kWh) per month?

All I seem to be able to get is a line graph showing increasing usage but it doesn’t start from my start date.

I thought i had cracked it with setting the period to yearly and the interval to monthly then choose the ‘total elec energy’ feed and switched to bar chart but its not right Oct energy usage is smaller than Nov.

I think you have to use the delta parameter
