Ethernet connection with wt32-eth01

I’m having so much problems with wifi. My wifi infrastructure is good and I’ve tried anything this past year.
I have this wt32-eth01 board laying around and thought it would be nice if I could make it work with the openevse. I saw a post in github about it, but I can’t make it work.

Does someone had success making this board work as an ethernet controller?

It should be possible, we use the ESP Ethernet Gateway from Olimex

# Wired Ethernet

Several boards are available with ethernet hardware, which can be used as drop-in replacements for ESP8266 / ESP32 WiFi modules and are compatible with all models of OpenEVSE / EmonEVSE.

The Ethernet gateway in our web-store will come with pre-wired power supply, serial connections, and pre-loaded with firmware for drop in replacement.

Network connection can be made with a standard Ethernet cable. For new installations it may be worth considering a power cable with integrated data connections such as the [Doncaster EV-ultra cable](http://www.doncastercables.com/cables/17/77/EV-Ultra/Power-and-data-connectivity-combined-in-one-cable/). If using such a cable, extra work will be required to attach RJ45 connector or socket at each end.

## Hardware Connections

Wiring varies depending on the board in use, in particular [this git issue](https://github.com/OpenEVSE/ESP32_WiFi_V3.x/issues/12) discusses a wiring change between revisions of the ESP32-GATEWAY board.

Did you purchase the board from OpenEnergyMonitor shop? If so the FW should be preloaded.

Thanks for the nice commit
The doubt i had is that the openevse sources doesn’t mention a G revision, only the F. And I didn’t know if I could burn the same firmware. I will try with the development build.

Yes F and G are very similar, no pin changes just some minor component changes which don’t effect FW. Here’s the change log:

Hardware change log:

- Hardware revision G

1. R54 removed. R24 and R16 moved further away from the button.
2. Improved EN signal - added C5(1uF/0603) on pin #3 of ESP32. R24 now 10k.

- Hardware revision F

>Added 3D view. Major changes to GPIO header, SD card mode, power consumption!:

1. GPIO6-11, which are used by the ESP32's internal flash, were disconnected from CON1 
and the 6 SD card signals are now routed instead for use when SD card is not present;

There are significant changes going from E to F hence the different FW version.

@glyn.hudson Just a small question: The bootloader and partitions binaries that are on the flash command, they slided there or there are supposed to be found somewhere else?

EDIT: Got them from v4.1.4. Not sure if they’re compatible, but it seems to work.
