EmonBase Stopped

This evening I was quietly working on a new dashboard when all communications with the base stopped. Fing declared the base not found on the network. Examination of the lights on the base show the red light steady, no green light flashing next to it. A full power down, delay of several minutes revealed a brief 3-4 seconds of green light activity alongside a steady red. Again no response from the base. I inserted a backup card and the device booted and was found on the network. Obviously all data and settings were lost.

This is a concern.

Why would this happen ?

How old is the system? Sounds like a failed SDCard to me.

Either buy a card and flash the image, or get a card from the shop. Note the shop sells high endurance cards.

It’s about 2 weeks old but fortunately, I removed the supplied industrial strength card and kept it as a backup. It is my own card, so it is a case in point for using the industrial ones. I will order one. Thanks for the reply.

If only that old, probably not the issue if the card is reasonably new.

Why remove the supplied card?

Always good to keep the original config and learn by creating a replacement. I suspect the card I used was not of great quality.

Maybe, but it should have last longer than two weeks!
