Hey bright people , power off for works yesterday and power back on 30mins later but elec showing an error on reboot , have tried power on lan in and vice versa , need to learn boot up process from power up , any help greatly appreciated as going away for a couple of days
What exactly are you talking about? More details please.
If you have an emonPi, this is worrying. There is a shut-down procedure you must follow to ensure the SD card is not corrupted. If you didn’t follow this, then it’s possible you have got damage to the SD card.
Hi Robert, this is the EmonPi display, this was due to a power trip so a power down procedure could not be implemented.
The display show shows the following
ELEC: ERROR
HEAT : is a wattage output display
There is a lan connection
Trying to provide enough info and, hopefully I have . This happened before through no fault of the Emon Pi and took a little coaxing to pick up monitoring again
I’m on my phone so can’t screen grab the lack of info that is being picked up
Is it an emonPi1, emonPi2 or a Heat Pump Monitor?
If it’s a Heat Pump Monitor, support is part of the package and you should email The Shop [email protected]

Robert thanks for responding , it is the emon Pi2 and it came back on line after I did the IT special and turned it off an on again . It did it once before when I had the power off, and needed intervention to start capturing data again . Will keep an eye and thanks again for responding
It shouldn’t need anything special to start working again, but as I wrote above, if the shut-down is intentional, then you should do so by stopping the software first, either though the Admin page of emonCMS or via the front panel button and the on-screen menu.
