Daikin altherma time setting

Octopus have recently installed a Daikin altherma 3 EBLA09… I was bit puzzled by the unit running every afternoon at about 2pm in warm (August) weather. Had to be water tank heating, but we dont use that much. Checked the hot water scheduling on the app and it all looked fine, though curiously it was scheduled for 2am ! Checked the heatpump operating screen Home display that afternoon and the time looked fine (eg: ‘3.25’)… Went to the Time/date configuration page and spotted a ‘24 hour clock ?’ setting. Thus the time should have been 15.25 (not 3.25). The (incorrect) time had been set up by the Octopus comissioning engineer.

Hi Chris.
Sorry to hear that. I too have a new Daikin install and one of the things that puzzles me is that I haven’t found a way to make the real-time-clock in the MMI to be synced to an internet clock. Do you now know a way?
If that were possible, your problem wouldn’t have arisen, and also we could be assured that any time-critical tariff scheduling that we make (eg. to coincide with off-peak or other half-hourly pricing) would begin and end within the expected half hour at the smart meter.

Hi Dan
Sadly, no. I had a Tado system before which did. Maybe Daikin will sort this omission and fix it. They only have to copy the time from an active Onectra app.

Think you may also need to check it for GMT/BST changeover unfortunately

Hi Ben
Yes I reckon that I will have to manually mess with the system’s time settings twice a year. Thus is really crude grrrrr.
