Daikin 6 kw randomly stopping today

Has anyone noticed any random stoppages of (daikin )

noticed this twice this afternoon , i do have the heat pump setup to shutdown at 14 degree outside temp but today its stopped producing heat on its own and temps were below 14 degree C

before starting up again ,

full day

I’ve not looked super close at this but mine should shut off at 15c but it hasn’t reached that here today.

similar pattern to mine very odd , did you sign up to octopus controlling your system ?

No, not signed up.

Do you know what the LWT target was at the time?

There appears to be a distinct rise in flow temperature in the lead up to the shutdowns - maybe FlowT exceeded targetT + overshoot?

yes this definitely happened (overshoot ) on both occasions , the input power also went up

I have seen this before on my 6kW, not in recent days, but it happens from time to time. Most often after a period of steady running at a low level.

The source of the problem is the rise in input energy, this raises the LWT, and after a few mins the unit effectively cycles because the LWT has got too high. After a period once the LWT has dropped sufficiently it restarts as per normal.

As to why it happens I have no idea really. My best guesses are either it’s control system get itself into some sort of feedback loop where it raises input power and/or compressor speed more and more. Or it is some sort of self-maintenance thing like moving oil around the system or something.

Its weird but it does just appear to be a thing that these models do.
