Hi all — has anyone successfully converted a Daikin Altherma 3 M EDLA (heating-only) to provide cooling?
I have an EDLA11DA3V3. I understand that the EDLA and equivalent reversible EBLA are very similar mechanically, and that one possible route to enabling cooling is replacing the main/hydro PCB with the corresponding EBLA board.
I’ve seen references online suggesting this is possible, but I haven’t found a really clear first-hand account from someone who has actually done the conversion.
Has anyone here:
- converted an EDLA09/11/14/16 to cooling by fitting an EBLA PCB;
- got the relevant PCB part number or know exactly which board needs changing;
- needed to change any other components, EEPROM/settings or sensors;
- encountered problems with condensation, firmware updates, fault codes or Daikin servicing afterwards; or
- found any physical differences between the EDLA and EBLA that make the conversion inadvisable?
I’m getting Daikin’s current firmware update done first and will ask the engineer about it when they visit, but I’d be very interested in any practical experience from people who have actually tried this.
