Aside from some cosmetic and lifecycle updates, does anyone know whether the V2 addresses some of the underperformance around 0c and noise issues so many experienced with the Arotherm+ V1 7kW units? It would be the perfect size for me and do like the Vaillants, it’s that or an Aerona 9kW.
Plenty of other heat pumps out there - over sizing isn’t the best decision, size based on heat load and that alone
As far as I’ve heard there’s been no changes to the internals. But they’ve still not released the datasheets as far as I’m aware.
I wouldn’t say the 7kW Arotherm V1 underperforms, the max output of the 7kW V1 is higher than the maximum output of most other manufactures with similar badged figures. The issue with Vaillant was they quoted silly high max output figures in their datasheet which were actually peak output. The real-world actual output of a 7kW is 6.7kW which is really good: HeatpumpMonitor.org.
The 8kW Viessmann only manges 5.6kW! HeatpumpMonitor.org. But Viessmann did show this on their datasheets charts.
The Grant Aerona HP290 9kW real-world max output is 8.6kW HeatpumpMonitor.org
Both the Vaillant and Grant are excellant units. The Vaillant has simpler controls, but the Grant has got more headroom and lower cost. I would go for the Grant if your heatloss is more than 5kW. You want about 30% headroom above your actual heatloss.
