we intend to buy a DAIKIN ALTHERMA 4 R290 12kW or 14kW. We would need it only for room heating, not for DHW.
But we need to know its modulation range, means what is the minimum heat output when the heating seasons comes to its end. Means its heat output at a12/w35 or a15/w35.
I found in KEYMARK only a value of 8.6 kW at a12/w35 (outer temperature 12 degree C, flow water temperature out of the heat pumpe 35 degree C), but cannot believe that 8.6 kW is its minimum heat output. In none of manuals / instructions which one can find on DAIKINs homepage I could find any such important info.
If someone has a 12kW or 14kW ALTHERMA 4 R290, perhaps its electrical power consumption has been measured, so in such case indirectly the heat output can be calculated…
thanks. Our house is from 1985 and we got already a calculation of the heat-load by a third engineering neutral company based on detailed house construction documents. It was also possible to cross-check the heat-load by measurements and the results do only differ by a few 100 W. Since the 12kW and 14kW DAIKIN Altherma 4 models have the same hardware/modulation range, there would be no reason for us to take the 12kW-model.
I accidentally today found a software tool from DAIKIN by which one can check the most appropriate model and by which one can see the modulation range for various outer temperatures and various water flow (inlet from outer wp-unit) temperatures, at various deltaT. Result: at a15/w35 and deltaT of 5K the minimum heat delivery would be around 4.8 kW. That´s fine, because even “smaller” heatpumpes do not show a (significantly) lower value.
