Feed directory paths or permissions were my first thought but being a prepared image there should be no issues there, lack of space is possible I guess but I thought the SD card should auto expand on first boot.

@Pierluigi_Dall_Osto What size SD card are you using? and what is the result of using df -h at the command line?

Engine type 1 is timestore which is now deprecated.

Do you have any timestore feeds in your old data?

i use the original 4Gb SD card and write over it the new SD image with Win32DiskImager. as proposed in the guide.

As I’m on windows… I did not format the SD is it wrong?

thanks for any feedback and thinks that I’m a newbie on linux command

What you have done sounds right and should be correct, what about on the emoncms admin page, what is the reported disc usage there?

The data partition is 91% full so it might cause problems with importing your old data, but it would not stop you creating new feeds.

Are you still unable to create new feeds?

I set the feed name as “use”

Has that created an entry in emoncms.log?

2016-12-31 14:19:19.550|ERROR|feed_model.php|EngineClass() Engine id ‘1’ is not supported.
2016-12-31 14:50:27.272|ERROR|feed_model.php|EngineClass() Engine id ‘1’ is not supported.
2016-12-31 14:50:32.964|ERROR|feed_model.php|EngineClass() Engine id ‘1’ is not supported.

Unfortunately just showing there are 2 more occurrences of the same error doesn’t tell us much on it’s own. Did you try importing your data again or is an attempt to create a feed resulting in the same error?

Try checking the log and then try creating a feed and recheck the log to if it has changed, that way we know if an error is being created by the failed attempt to create a feed.

You could also use “developer mode” of most mainstream browsers (F12) to see if any errors are reported in the console.

hi Paul,
thanks for supporting also the first of January. Happy new year!! i wish you and to all community friends all the best for 2017.

To remove any doubt about SD size, I try to use the only one available at home of 16Gb. Installation and resizing work correctly.
but same situation.

this is the log after new SD16Gb, i try a couple of time to add Feeds. every time i try to add feeds or open the feed or input page, on the log appear a new line “Engine id ‘1’ is not supported”

Hi I had a news.
by chance I try now with “Microsoft Edge” and apparently it works. I’m able to create a feed!!
before I use Firefox.

I try to complete the setup and I let you know.

update: I was able to create all feeds via MS edge, all works correctly as a new installation.
solar app works correctly.

I try to upload my backup data, it’s work correctly but something is strange.

strange thing:
the imported data was added on a “nogroup” list
new feed added automatically to “Node emonpi”
when i add the feed if i set the name as “use” it doesn’t work if I add the “use” at the end of proposed name it works!
it’s strange and no guide describe this particular situation.

thanks for the help given
If it is not only my problem, it have to be clarify end indicate somewhere in the guide.

Thanks again.
I’m obviously available for test on my particular situation.

I found a lot o CSS problem if I open the emonpi page using Firefox see attached
css problem.txt (47.1 KB)

if i use CTRL + F5 key (it’s update CSS) most of the problem disappear and I’m able to see feeds working.
also some problem on JS (sorry it is in Italian):

Una richiesta XMLHttpRequest sincrona sul thread principale è deprecata a causa degli effetti negativi sull’esperienza utente. Per ulteriori informazioni consultare http://xhr.spec.whatwg.org/ jquery-1.11.3.min.js:5:25377
non well-formed getconfig.json:1:1
TypeError: feeds[app_mysolarpv.config.solar.value] is undefined[Ulteriori informazioni]

hope it’s help to understand

I’m afraid I know very little about the CSS and JS in emonCMS, and I know nothing at all about Firefox.

The CTRL-F5 is just a hard page refresh that forces all items to be reloaded, effectively like clearing the cache and refreshing the page.

The “nogroup” vs “Node emonpi” is a quirk of the system, it has done that for quite a while, but mainly goes un-fixed as most users tend to change the groups anyway.
You can correct the errors or apply your own preferred groups by editing any feeds “tag” from the feeds page, although they are not displayed, each feed has a “tag” that they are grouped by. The group headings are derived from the tags.

I’m also still unsure why you are getting the “Engine id ‘1’” errors if you are not using any feeds of that type.
